Ramon G. Barredo & Associates, APLC is a law firm with a rich family history in the legal profession, and is truly a family business.  

Mr. Barredo (“Chito”) is the son of former Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines, Antonio P. Barredo (deceased).   He attended law school at Ateneo de Manila, and received his law degree in 1978. He was admitted to practice law in the Philippines shortly thereafter, and enjoyed years of success as a lawyer in the Philippines.

In search of better opportunities for his family, he and his wife, Imelda, decided to move to the United States with their children. Mr. Barredo was then admitted to practice law in California 1992, and he has competently represented a variety of clients throughout the years.  He is currently admitted to practice before all California courts, all Immigration courts, as well as the Federal Courts of the Central and Eastern Districts of California.

In addition to representing clients in both the United States and the Philippines, Mr. Barredo has been active in educating Filipinos at home about their legal rights, and also in efforts to bring legal remedies to those with little means to do so.   He has hosted a weekly broadcast in the Philippines, bringing the law and important legal matters into people’s homes.

Also an integral part of the firm is Mr. Barredo’s loving wife of over 50 years. Imelda S. Barredo is the firm’s Office Manager and Paralegal/Legal Assistant.   Imelda has a  Bachelor’s degree from Notre Dame College in Belmont, California.  Prior to managing the law firm, Imelda enjoyed a successful career managing a variety of other businesses, including a hotel, and a textile manufacturing plant.  In addition to being a licensed Real Estate Broker, she earned her certificate in Paralegal Studies in 1997.  She assists in all aspects of the firm’s practice, primarily focusing on the Bankruptcy and Immigration areas. 

Mr. Barredo’s daughter, Mary Kathleen Gallagher also assists from time to time as an Attorney Of Counsel in the firm's estate planning practice only.  Ms. Gallagher primarily works as a litigator in the Sacramento area.  

Ms. Gallagher has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. She earned her law degree, with honors, from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, Sacramento in 2006.  This includes receiving the Witkin Award for achieving the highest grade in her Wills and Trusts class among her fellow students. She is currently admitted to practice before all the California courts, as well as the Federal courts of the Northern, Eastern and Central Districts of California.

Ms. Gallagher's husband, Brian Gallagher, is the Office Manager of the firm's Sacramento office and assists with estate planning clients of the firm.
